過去36年來，FMM在引領馬國製造廠商邁向經濟成長及現代化方面扮演積極角色，迄今擁有超過2,000家製造業者及服務業者為其會員的FMM，已被公認為馬國最大、最權威及代表製造業喉舌之民間經貿組織協會。

FMM曾許下宏願將協助馬國政府，引導該國工業邁向前首相馬哈迪立下2020年成為先進工業國之遠景(VISION 2020)目標。此外，FMM亦將積極提升馬國工業之生產力及國際競爭力。迄今共有861家FMM會員廠商於馬國股票交易所上市，在總數2,135家FMM會員中，有47%之會員已獲頒ISO證書。FMM歡迎所有已在馬國登記的製造廠商及公司，大型規模或中小型工業、外資或本地資金抑或聯營性質之公司均可申請成為其會員。

Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry（MICCI）成立於1837年，為一擁有悠久歷史之協會，其成立之目的除協助馬國廠商處理一般商業事務外，另一主要功能為扮演廠商與政府單位之間溝通的橋樑，該協會會員包括1,000多個當地事業體，其中製造業佔30%、貿易業佔15%、銀行與金融服務業佔15%、其他行業佔40%，可分別依地區別、行業別、公司名稱等方式進行會員資料之查詢。
